Story
G'day, and thanks for visiting my page! In January 2018 I'm taking on my 7th cycle challenge for a cause with 25000spins, this time cycling in the cool, mountainous state of Tasmania. I prefer faster, flatter rides, but will be cycling up many hills around my home in preparation for the ride! I'm paying for all expenses for this ride and associated travel, so ALL of your sponsorship donation will go directly to ADRA projects. THANK YOU so much for helping out with any size donation! (Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible in Australia.) The charity I've chosen to fundraise for is the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), which works in more than 120 countries throughout the world, including Australia (one local project in the area I live is a Women's Refuge for victims of domestic and family violence). In April 2012 I travelled to Vietnam with ADRA Connections on a volunteer building project, and got to experience first hand some of the development work they do. I also visited my brother who was working for ADRA and based in Cambodia for that year, working on a community development project there. It's so encouraging to see the dedication and outward focus of the ADRA staff - both here and overseas. If you'd like to find out more or join a ride yourself, see below for a video snapshot plus a link to the 25000spins website and facebook page. |
